Uzbekistan has fully integrated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its national Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, launching systematic green transition projects covering renewable energy, water conservation, urban afforestation, waste recycling and sustainable infrastructure construction. The country’s SDG national commitments release long-term stable demand for energy-saving, recyclable and eco-friendly hardware products, creating massive business space for global hardware manufacturers.
Aligned with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Uzbekistan targets lifting renewable energy’s share to 40% of its energy mix by 2030, with planned installation of 10 GW solar power and 12.5 GW wind power capacity. Large-scale construction of photovoltaic power stations, wind farms and supporting power transmission facilities drives strong demand for photovoltaic brackets, anti-corrosion fasteners, metal pipeline fittings, electrical hardware and industrial hand tools. The government plans to invest over USD 25 billion in green energy projects, with 80% of capital open to foreign investors, bringing continuous procurement demand for hardware supporting new energy equipment.
To deliver SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Uzbekistan sets clear quantitative environmental targets: raising national water use efficiency by 25%, lifting national green coverage to 30%, processing 65% of solid household waste, and building 4,450 hectares of new green zones in Tashkent. Water-saving valves, irrigation metal fittings, garden hardware, waste disposal equipment accessories and corrosion-resistant construction hardware are listed as key imported materials for municipal green renovation.
Under SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Uzbekistan accelerates deep processing of local mineral resources, including a USD 2.7 billion copper processing complex in Almalyk launched in March 2026. The mining and metallurgy projects require massive volumes of high-strength structural hardware, precision metal parts and maintenance power tools. Meanwhile, the country plans to build more than 1 million affordable housing units by 2030, matching SDG 11 urban livability goals, boosting demand for architectural hardware, door and window fittings and decorative hardware.
The UN review notes Uzbekistan ranks 62nd among 193 UN member states on the 2025 SDG Index, with steady progress in green industrial transformationUnited Nations in Uzbekistan. Supported by visa-free policies for nearly 90 countries and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway logistics corridor, international hardware suppliers can efficiently access Uzbekistan’s SDG-driven green infrastructure market, with eco-friendly, low-carbon hardware becoming core competitive products for local project bidding.
